MORE white after labor day : How to wear a white jean jacket for fall

This post is sponsored by Walmart. All the opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that keep this blog going.

When it comes to style rules are meant to be broken , "no white after labor day" is one of them. A white denim jacket, for example, is a great wardrobe staple to transition your outfits from summer to fall. You can pair it with lightweight knits and warm tone neutrals, or as a bold accent over an all black ensemble, just like I did. This post might as well be called 2 ways to wear a white denim jacket + a graphic tee, which just proves one more time how easy is to completely change your look by just swapping a couple things out of your outfit.

All of my clothes are from Walmart,  which you already know is one of my favorite places to shop on a budget. I still can believe the prices of some of these things. My jacket is currently on clearance for $9, the black sneakers remind me a lot to one of my favorite name brand shoes but are a much more affordable option at only $10, the fun graphic tee from Sofia Jeans was only $4 and it came with a little "devil eye" bracelet, a gift from the brand.

Layering a crisp white jacket over an all black ensemble is the easiest way to make an statement . I love the contrast between black and white. The sneakers complete this comfy look, but you can also wear stiletto heels & a camisole for a GNO.

Mixing different textures and fabrics always make your outfit look more interesting. I love the look of denim and leahter together. To add a little bit more of a pop I also worn my snakesking booties.

What's in my travel makeup bag

I typically travel with only an "underseater" or a carry on (during longer trips), so I try to pack as little as possible, that includes skin care and makeup as well. Ever since I got back from Mexico I've been sticking to the same products I wore when I was there. They lasted for 8+ hours amongst the humidity and heat and I honestly love every single one of them. Check them out!

1. Primer

Any Laura Mercier Primer works great for me but my favorite is "Radiance" which is an iluminating primer that helps to minimize the look of imperfections. It comes in travel size as well.

2. Concelear

This is my absolute favorite concelear because a tiny bit of product completely covers any imperfection. When I travel I pack the shade "peach" which makes easier to cover dark spots and dark undereye bags.

3. Foundation

Cargo Cosmetics just launched their swimmables collection which is a complete line of waterproof makeup. I really liked the foundation so I took it with me to test it out in Mexico. It passed the beach and sweat test with flying colors.

When I want a lighter Foundation or a no-makeup kind of look I opt for this powder foundation.

4. Setting Powder

I swear by this setting powder, is much lighter than laura mercier translucent powder and the pakcaging is also more compact and travel friendly

5. Bronzer

I'm a contour type of girl, but when I travel I prefer bronzer because it's easier and faster to apply, you really can't mess it up even if you're in a rush. This is my favorite bronzer at the moment.

6. Highlighter

I love this highlighter because this is the perfect golden shade that goes well with everything. I like that the stick has a built-in sponge applicator which makes it convenient to apply on-the-go

7. Lipliner

I rarely wear lipliner but I like to pack a couple just in case. I've been using these by Laura Mercier on the shades Crimson, an orangey red shade,  and Plumberry which is a deep mauve, a really good neutral for me.

8. Lipsticks

I typically only pack 2 or 3 different lipsticks. A nude, and a red are a must, I've been wearing these Laura Mercier lippies on the shades Rouge Muse and Brun Natural. Another lippie I always travel with is my Trestique Matte Color + Shiny Balm lip crayon in the shade Belize Bordeaux which is 2 in one lippe in a pretty dark bold color.

9. Eyeliner

Sometimes all you need is a red lip and a winged eyeliner. I make sure to always pack my Rimmel London Wonder Wing just in case I'm feeling bold.

10. Eye Shadow base

This is literally the best primer I've ever used. I have it in every shade.

11. Eyeshadow Palettes
These two are my current favorite palettes. The petite has every warm shade you need for an every day eye look. The Backtalk palette is super convenient for traveling because it's a eye + face palette with  3 blushes, 1 highlighter and 8 pink eyeshadows (matte and shimmers).

Where to find the best high waisted jeans

I've been wearing these jeans a lot and every time I do, I get lots of questions about them.  I got them from a thrift store a few years ago and they're still my favorite. Sadly I can't share a direct link to buy them, but I did my research and found lots of similar styles at different price points.

My favorite place to buy jeans has to be Levi's , the ribcages, wedgies and original 501 are all straight and high waisted, they also come in 99% cotton 1% elastane which is the thick, non-stretchy denim that feels and looks like vintage jeans.  Another great option is Topshop, they have TONS of differents styles, more like a modern take on a vintage jean. H&M "mom jean is also 98% cotton and super high waisted , a great option at a much lower price point. If you prefer softer/ stretchy denim I definitely recommend you to check Sofia Jeans by Sofia Vergara heir jeans are super high waisted and curves friendly.

My favorite places to shop in a budget

I'm wearing: Target Stacia sandals | Henri Bendel bag from Poshmark | Thrifted Vintage Calvin Klein Jeans (only $2) | H&M ribbed off the shoulder top (comes in three colors)

When I was editing these pictures I had one of those A-HA moments because I realized everything I'm wearing was either second hand or bought on clearance but to be honest, that's how the majority of my clothes are. Although I shop a lot, specially online,  I don't spend a lot of money shoes or clothes. I have a few stores that never dissapoint me when it comes to find the best deals:

Express Factory Outlet

Not to be confused with its sister Store Express. Although they carry similar items, Express Factory Outlet doesn't have a website and has a much lower price point and crazy discounts all year long. This is a really good place to find office wardrobe staples like blazers and pants, or very affordable casual dresses.

Here I shop once in a while for t-shirts, swimsuits and bodysuits, mostly things I don't like to spend a lot of money on. Their graphic tee selection is pretty good and last year they had really nice coats for less than $50. Keep an eye on it this winter!

This is my go to for basics like buttoned shirts, plain tees and sweatshirts. It's also a good place to find something last minute. They have lots of trendy pieces, casual clothes and office staples. The top I'm wearing in this post is from H&M and was only $8

They have it all, from swimsuits, trendy pieces and ever night gowns. I love that they carry petite, plus and maternity sizes. They truly have something for everyone

When it comes to quality Shein is not the best, but definitely a great webside for bargain finds on trendy pieces. Most things run small and often they don't look as pictured. Luckily they have a really good return policy! I recommend to always read the reviews first a double check the measurements.

They're my favorite shoe store. I love how comfy their heels are. Their price point is not the lowest, but they often have really good discount codes , and sales in low inventory I talked more about in on this post.

Who doesn't love target? It always has been a favorite of mine for home decor and kitchen staples but lately their fashion deparment is on point too. Brands like A New Day and Who What Wear are a favorite of mine. Always check their shoe clearance section, I got the sandals I'm wearing in this post for $5

Walmart definitely has been stepping up their game on the fashion department. Their next day shipping, low prices and TONS of brands to chose from makes it one of my favorite places to shop online. Walmart recently teamed up with Lord and Taylor, and now also they also offer premium brands like Vince Camuto, Calvin Klein and more.

They have E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! accesories, handbags, shoes, women, men & kids clothes and a huge selection of name brands typically with discounted price tags. They're 365 days return policy with FREE returns via UPS has literally changed my online shopping experience forever.

I not only buy but also sell my gently used clothes here. (SHOP MY CLOSET) Most sellers offer discounts or even free shipping when you purchase multiple items. I got the Henri Bendel bag I'm wearing on this post for $70 and it came with tags and their original dustbag and box. Such a steal!

Thrift stores
I try to check my favorite thrift store at least every few months. I typically look for vintage denim, oversized blazers, sweaters and coats. I think thrift shopping it's a topic that deserves its own post!
