Embroidered details are a huge trend. Believe it or not, they are really versatille too. You just need to wear them, the same way you would do if they didn't have any embroidered detail on it you know what I mean? (I'm the worst explaining things). You can also pair them with another prints. If you need some advice on how to wear prints, check THIS POST out!
This time I paired my embroidered stripes shirt with black jeans, booties and aviator sunnies for a casual look. Lately I'm hating this jeans because they are too long and I'm planing to cut them like I did with these. What do you think?

Bell Sleeves dress

*This post may have affiliate links

Basics are not so basic anymore. Now jeans have frayed hems, the classic stripes shirt has embroidered details, and everything else has bell sleeves, ruffles or laces. I'm totally loving the trend! This dress I'm wearig today is from Zaful (and I got it for less than $25). I paired it with lace up sandals and a clutch I found on poshmark, the whole look is less than $50. What do you think?

The dress pants look alike

Like a mentioned in another post, I work in an office with a "bussiness casual" dress code. I can wear pretty much everything but jeans or leggings of course. However this "pants" I'm wearing today are just leggings with fake pockets, and I can I wear them to the office get away with it! These are my to-go pants when I'm feeling lazy and I just want to be comfy. To make them look a little bit "dressier" I pair them with longer tops or blazers, and heels of course. This outfit is the perfect example, I've worn it so many times for work just switching the booties for lace up heels. Do you have any tips to make your casual clothes look work appropiate?

Currently loving

Hi Guys! Today I want to show you some of the products I'm loving lately. From skin care products to makeup and even magazines, here you'll find a little bit of everything. If you've tried or heard about any of these before, let me know your thoughts in a comment below!

I got this Freeman Btightening overnight mask like a month ago when shopping online on Ulta and I needed about $7 more to get free shipping. This was just the right price, so I decided to give it a try and loved it! The formula is really light weight, doesn't make my skin break out but it does a great job clearing out my dark spots. The only thing I hate, is that sometimes it irritates the sides of my nose, (weird right?) so I just avoid that are completely.

Another great brightening product is this O.R.G. mineral peel I received on a suscription box. This is a non-abrasive exfoliant. You just need  to spray it on to your face and then gently massage it on circular motions to remove all excess dirt and dead skin

Talking about gentle exfoliators, one of my favorites is my Dew puff konjac sponge.  I use this one to wash my face every other morning, instead of using micellar water like I always do. Konjac sponges and korean beauty products in general are very porpular at the moment, so there are several brands who sell them , but I personally like Dew Puff better just because they are affordable, each one of these is only $8.

The next one, is also a korean skin care product: The black sugar perfect first serum. You probably already read about it in THIS POST, but this definitely deserves another mention because it is that great! If you're fighting agains dark spots or dull skin, you definitely need this in your life. Almost every other website describes it as an exfoliant or moisturizer but I don't agree. I would say it's more like a brightening toner. Read more about it HERE

Enough about skin care products, let's talk about makeup shall we? If you ask me what is the best liquid lipstick out there, I would say withouth doubt is Julep's It's whipped matte lip mouse. Sure this is not the most long lasting, or kiss proof product out there, but the formula is extremely comfy and moisturizing. This is the only liquid lip that doesn't dry out or crack my lips (not even during winter), so I don't mind the extra one or two applications per day.

Another makeup product that changed my life is the Milk makeup blur stick. This is a silicone free lightweight primer that MINIMIZES the appearance of pores and fine lines, and mattifies your skin. Most people don't like this product because it doesn't cover your pores as a regular silicon primer would do. I love it because so far this is the only primer that has helped me to keep my makeup oil-free for longer, and I can even using after my moisturizer (without any more makeup on) just to keep my face matte the whole day.

Oval brushes have been around for a while now, and about a year ago I got my makeup done by a MUA that used those and I really liked the finish but I never got a set before because I thought they were over prized. Then I found THIS set at Zaful for $10, and the rest is history. They definitely don't look as cute as the Artis' brushes, but they do the job. They are really soft and the bigger ones work great blending foundation and concealer. I like to use the one in the middle to contour my nose and the one next to it to create cut crease eyeshadow looks.

Last but not least, I have to admit that for the last month I ditched my beloved books, and I replaced them with wedding magazines and traveling books. This bride-to-be is in full wedding planning mood! I get my hands in every bridal magazine that comes on my way but my favorite is Modern Luxury Wedding,  which by the way is having their annual evening of bridal luxury next February 19th. If you're a Chicago Bride you can't miss this. (Get tickets here).

And because a big part of planning a wedding is planning a honeymoon, I've been reading a lot about traveling as well. Eric got me this book a little while ago, and it's not only going to help us chose a destination, we decided to make it out travel bucket list!

50 shades of beige

If you have been around for a while, you probably know that I love wearing dark colors. In fact most of my closet is full of black, grey and burgundy clothes. Lately I've been trying to add a little bit more of "color"(note: when I say color, I mean some lighter neutrals like beige, brown and olive) and stay away from the black. In fact I made a promise to not getting any new clothes in black. Reason why before I got THESE boots I've been wearing the entire winter, I ordered this over the knee boots in brown, hopping that would help me to experiment more with my outfits. Long history short, this is the second time I've worn them (the first time I also paired them with a blanket scarf) but you have to start somewhere right?

I'm in full wedding planning mood, and I've found a lot of great vendors and so much insipiration from this events.  If you're a bride-to-be, and you're living in Chicago you definitely need to go. See you there!!

my favorite places to shop affordable clothes

*This post may contain affiliate links.

On my previuous post one of my readers asked me If I get my clothes from second hand stores. The answer is yes! I would say that at least 50% of my clothes come from a thrift store, and I get the rest from different online stores (where the clearance/sale section is the first thing I check). So I figured I'll share with you my favorite places to shop . Keep reading!
Sigan leyendo!

*Second hand (thrift stores) - This is my favorite place to get sweaters, dresses, buttoned shirts and dress pants. Some of you have told me you think is really hard to shop there. My best advice is to go with an specific item on mind and stick to it.

*Poshmark - You can great some good deals in handbags and shoes. Before making an offer, ask as many questions as you need and consider other options. Different sellers sometimes have the same or similar items

*H&M - If you're looking for "trendy" clothing accesories, this fast fashion store usually have them at a better price. If you're shopping online I would go up a size or two.
*Charlotte russe - They have great deals on shoes all the time!

*Dresslink - This type of stores are always a hit or miss. This is one of the cheaper ones, but you get what you paid for. Before ordering anything I read all the reviews and see the real pictures that other people share, If it doesn't have any then I won't buy it. Sizes run small, for a reference I'm size L. If you don't mind the gamble and the waiting, you should give it a try.

*Rosegal & Zaful- These two are very similar than the last one, but just a little bit more expensive and the shipping is way more faster. I think zaful have prettier clothes and the quality is better as well.

*AMIclubwear - another online store similar to the last two, with the difference that this one offers a bigger varierty of sizes & products, and sizes run as expected. This is also a great place for shopping shoes. I got my over the knee boots in this store.
